The duties for goods must be paid for goods imported from abroad or exported abroad by sea via the Port of Kemi according to the charges specified on the tariff schedule.
The duties must also be paid for the domestic traffic of goods shipped in or out through the Port of Kemi.
Unless otherwise agreed upon, the duty for goods must be paid by the party having declared the goods for customs clearance, by the domestic owner of the goods, or by the agent of the vessel.
The party that is obliged to pay the duty for the goods is also obliged to provide the port office all information needed for payment.
The duty for the goods is charged according to the net weight of the goods, unless otherwise stated in the tariff.

The goods duty must be paid by the due date indicated on the invoice. The penalty interest rate is the highest permitted by the Interest Act.

Payment of the fee allows for the container to be stored in the harbour area for two weeks.
