General principles
Any vessel used for merchant traffic that enters the harbour area of the City of Kemi is charged a vessel fee according to this tariff.
- If the vessel fee is based on net tonnes, the fee is calculated for each full net tonne, based on the net tonnage recorded in the vessel's bill of tonnage.
- If the vessel's port of departure or port of destination is a foreign port, the vessel is handled within foreign traffic.
- In order to ascertain the bases for charging fees, the captain or agent of the vessel is obliged to make the reports stipulated by port regulations.
- The vessel fee allows vessels to dock in the harbour area for 30 days.
- The vessel fee may be reduced or the vessel may be completely released from payment for a special reason.
- Vessels which maintain the Port of Kemi as their base (trawlers, tugs, water buses, domestic traffic passenger ships etc.) are charged the vessel fee according to the Port of Kemi small vessel tariff.
- The waste disposal service for vessels is charged according to the separately approved waste disposal tariff.
Cargo vessels
The charge for a cargo vessel is EUR 0.52 / nt
However, the minimum charge is EUR 225,00
Passenger vessels
The vessel charge for passenger and cruise ships is EUR 0.52 / nt.
However, the minimum charge is EUR 225,00.
Tugboats
A tugboat that enters the harbour area only occasionally is charged EUR 103 / visit.
In the case of a tug-barge combination, as specified in 29 § 2 of the Pilotage Decree, the vessel fee shall be paid for the barge according to its net tonnage.
Stripped vessels
The vessel fee for vessels which have been stripped down and are used as storage space, shall be negotiated separately between the shipping company and the Port of Kemi.
A fee according to the port duty tariff will be charged for tugs assisting vessels within the harbour area. However, the minimum charge is a one-time payment of EUR 850 for each new six (6) month period.
