Weather and seasons

The weather conditions in Kemi and the Bothnian Bay are favourable for navigation throughout the year. The Bothnian Bay usually begins to freeze in October-November and the last of the ice melts away by the beginning of June at the latest.

Navigation is easy during the icy season in the Bothnian Bay thanks to excellent ice-breaking equipment.
